Basilia 2027: A New Chapter for Basel’s Watch & Jewellery Industry

All articles

Basel has always had a special relationship with the world of watches and jewellery. With Basilia arriving in 2027, a new chapter is beginning — and we couldn’t be more excited.

A City With Watchmaking in Its History

For decades, Basel was one of the most important meeting places for the international watch and jewellery industry. Baselworld brought together manufacturers, retailers, collectors and industry professionals from across the globe, transforming the city into a vibrant international hub each spring.

For those of us who live and work in Basel, the event was much more than a trade fair. It was part of the city’s identity.

At House & Food Company, we had the pleasure of welcoming Baselworld visitors for many years. From returning exhibitors to international teams travelling together, we helped guests find a comfortable home in Basel during one of the busiest periods of the year. We built relationships that lasted well beyond a single fair week.

A Fresh Beginning With Basilia

Scheduled for 8–11 April 2027 at Messe Basel, Basilia represents an exciting opportunity for Basel to reconnect with the international watch and jewellery community.

The industry has evolved considerably since the Baselworld years. Events are changing, expectations are shifting, and the way professionals connect is becoming more personal and experience-driven.

We look forward to seeing how Basilia develops its own identity while drawing on Basel’s longstanding tradition as an international meeting place.

Why Basel Remains a Special Destination

There is something unique about attending an event in Basel. The city is compact enough to navigate easily, yet international enough to offer excellent restaurants, cultural experiences and opportunities to connect with people from around the world.

Between appointments and exhibitions, visitors can walk along the Rhine, discover the historic Old Town or enjoy dinner in one of Basel’s many neighbourhood restaurants.

A Warm Welcome From House & Food Company

As a Basel-based, family-run accommodation agency, we’re especially pleased to see a new event bringing the watch and jewellery community back to the city.

Our work has always been about offering visitors something a little more personal than a conventional hotel stay: carefully selected apartments, space to settle in and a local point of contact throughout their visit.

Whether you’re returning to Basel after many years or visiting for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you.
